Buckingham Electrical were commissioned with the installation of a new power supply, specifically a 400-amp system to support a Green hydrogen production unit. The hydrogen unit received its power through parallel feeds per phase and neutral, utilising 240mm SWA singles. The project involved extensive planning with site services, as it necessitated the installation of cable containment in the form of 900mm ladder racking. This infrastructure was strategically routed through an existing building, requiring careful coordination to navigate the cables up and over an operational effluent treatment plant. The cables were securely glanded into a designated extension box and then terminated on to an existing 630-amp MCCB inside the mains panel, which was subsequently downrated to 400 amps.
