Buckingham Electrical spearheaded the installation of a robust 400A power supply to a panel board dedicated to powering EV car charging points. The company car park now boasts 4 high-performance dual charging points, featuring 2x 22kW and 2x 11kW capacities.
A sleek and efficient solution was achieved by mounting a Tardis, housing the 3-phase 400A panel board, 4 RCDs, and a local 3-phase distribution board. Wiring was executed through strategically placed ducting, which required collaboration with ground-working contractors to establish trenches for the wiring routes from the main panel room to the Tardis location.
Following meticulous cable calculations, the decision was made to employ a parallel 120mm 4-core SWA, utilising not only the armoured component as CPC but additionally running a separate 150mm CPC. The outgoing circuit wiring was installed in XLPE SWA bottom entry into the car charging bases via ducting, ensuring a sleek and streamlined finish to this infrastructure.
